Fatal Accident Claims Five Lives on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

On Wednesday, a tragic accident at NASFAT turning on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway resulted in the loss of five lives and left ten others injured.

Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident, revealing that it occurred at 9:56 am and involved a Daf truck (KUT 561 ZZ), a Toyota Hiace bus (GGE 84 YF), and a Man diesel truck without a registration number.

The likely cause of the accident was attributed to dangerous driving by one of the trucks.

The victims, comprising 11 men and four women, faced the consequences of the multiple crashes, with ten sustaining injuries (six men and four women) and five losing their lives.

Mrs. Okpe disclosed that the injured individuals were taken to Famobis Hospital, Mowe, while the deceased were deposited at Idera Hospital morgue in Sagamu.

“A total of 15 persons were involved, which comprised 11 men and four women.

” Ten were injured (six men and four women) while five persons were killed from the multiple crash,” she said.

The Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, issued a caution to motorists about speed and reckless driving, urging them to adopt a defensive driving approach for their safety.
