Family Releases Burial Dates, Plans For Late Alaba Lawson

The family of the late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Mrs Alaba Oluwaseun Lawson, has released the details of her burial.

Tropic Reporters recalls that the Nigerian business magnate and academician from Abeokuta in Ogun State, died on October 28, 2023 aged 72.

The Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Chief Sanya Abiola made the burial plans available at a press conference held at the private residence of the deceased in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, this Monday.

Abiola revealed that the 8-day burial ceremony will commence from December 1 to December 8, 2023.

The Chairman accompanied by other members of the committee disclosed that the first six days (Friday December 1 to Wednesday December 6, 2023) have been dedicated to various groups, associations and professional bodies among others who have shown interest in celebrating the deceased

Abiola added that on Friday December 1, 2023, NACCIMA Business Women Group (NAWORG) will hold a special service in her honour at the NACCIMA office, GRA Ikeja, Lagos

The Chairman explained that in similar vein, on Monday, December 4, the ECOWAS Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (ECOWAS-FEBWE) will hold a note of tributes in her honour at the Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

He further disclosed that on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 the African Church, Nigeria will hold a Service of Songs in her honour at the Cathedral of St. James African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta.

The committee boss disclosed that Wednesday, December 6, 2023 will be the turn of the Association of Egba Traders (Egba Lawa), Oke Ona Council of Chiefs, Egba Christian Chiefs and the Lawson Group of Schools will hold different sessions in honour of the late 72 year-old woman.

The central planning committee stressed further that the final burial programme is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 7, 2023 with a Christian Wake and Nite of Tributes at the Marquee Events Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta by 4pm”

The chairman said the burial service is scheduled to hold December 8, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. James African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta followed by a private family interment for the deceased.
