In celebration of International Literacy Day 2024, The SixthSense Initiative is championing the importance of multilingual education as a tool for promoting global understanding and fostering peace.

The organization, through its founder, Abiodun Oladimeji Lasile DL, emphasizes that literacy in multiple languages is crucial in building bridges between cultures and addressing societal challenges.

With the theme “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace,”

The SixthSense Initiative stresses the role of language in enhancing empathy and cooperation.

According to Lasile, “In a world marked by cultural and linguistic diversity, the ability to communicate in multiple languages offers a pathway to mutual respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.”

Multilingual education, the Initiative argues, equips individuals with the tools to appreciate different perspectives, enabling them to navigate the complexities of global interactions with greater ease.

The SixthSense Initiative is urging communities and educational systems to prioritize inclusive learning environments that celebrate linguistic diversity and promote cross-cultural communication.

“Read, write, and communicate in multiple languages; build bridges of understanding, and forge a path to peace,” says Lasile.

As the world commemorates Literacy Day 2024, The SixthSense Initiative calls for a collective commitment to advancing multilingual education as a means of creating a more inclusive, peaceful global society.
