Engage Youths In Decisions Making – Dapo Wahab Charges Govt

The Chairman of Ifedara Opeji Area CDC, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab today featured on Splash fm 106.7 live magazine youth based programme tagged, “Lawoju Odo* which has Olamilekan Aderibigbe as the anchor.

Asiwaju Dapo Wahab while responding to series of questions from the anchor said youths should be considered and encouraged in decision making as the youths of today would become elders tomorrow.

Asiwaju Dapo Wahab stressed further that youths should be engaged in important government decisions and policies to enable an all inclusive development and encouraged to take leadership positions in the political spheres.

While commenting on the attitudes of some political leaders that used the youths as thug, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab advised politicians to judiciously use the strength of the youths towards developing their strengths rather than engaging the youth in social vices capable of undermining their potentials.

He urged religious and Community leaders to designs programmes that could help boost the human capital development of the youths to enhance national growth.

He however applauded the strengths geared by the youths during the community watch caused by armed robbers during the lockdown.

He noted that such communial efforts should be encouraged and maintained to further protect the lives and properties of residents.

He thereafter advised the youth community to desist from any unethical acts that could hinder their potentials and progress in the nearest future.

In his conclusion, relevant stakeholders were advised to see youth grooming as an essential things and that should be be taken seriously to avoid any act that could cause problem and crisis in the community.

He said, “The elders or leaders should help the youths in the community to learn learn a trade or vocational skills as the most fabulous idea may need a bit or more logistical planning,”

“The youths should be guided to understand that all visions and ideas take time before such can manifest.”

Youths should be more realistic and stop comparing their ways of life with those faking their identities on social media platforms with the sole aim of intimidating others, he added.

“Youths should be guided to develop habits that in the end, they can sustain such without offering any form of suggestion or prodding, he concluded.
