The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde on Friday has been presented “Letter of Recognition” by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, for the official take off of Emmanuel Alayande University.
This was revealed by Governor Seyi Makinde on his verified social media handles, shortly after receiving the letter which was presented by the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.
The presentation of the letter gives birth to the successful completion of the formal documentation into the establishment of the University.

Receiving NUC’s team, Governor Seyi Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring quality Education in the State.
Makinde also thanked those who worked tirelessly to make the establishment of the University happen.
“I am happy to report that we received confirmation from the National Universities Commission that the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo is now recognised as the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education. Many thanks to everyone who worked tirelessly to make this happen!”

The letter conveying the recognition was personally received from the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed by the Oyo State Governor.
The NUC Executive Secretary lauded the governor’s initiative on education, noting that the establishment of the university is an important legacy of Governor Makinde.
You would recall that on the 5th of December, 2022, Governor Makinde assented to the bill to upgrade the 126-year-old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (EACOED), to turn the College of Education into a full-fledged University of Education
