ELEGBORO OF IJEBU JESA, OBA AGUNSOYE CHARGES INDIGENES IN DIASPORA TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

… PREACHES LOVE AND UNITY in Houston 

The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye and Olori Omolara Agunsoye were on Saturday hosted to a warm reception by sons and daughters of Egboro land under the auspices of Ijebu-Jesa People in Diasporas – Egboroland (IJPD-E).

The reception was organised by the Olugbenga Ayo-Ariyo led IJPD-E to allow an avenue for a town hall meeting with the monarch who is the US on an annual vacation. The reception provided the needed avenue for the group to bond with the royal family and intimate the Kabiyesi of some of their activities and projects embarked upon by them.

While welcoming the Abikehin-Ekun, the Coordinator of Ijebu-Jesa People in Diasporas, Mr Olugbenga Ayo-Ariyo eulogised the traditional ruler for all the developmental efforts he has been undertaking since ascending the throne. He noted that the group is very proud of the monarch as they always discuss his achievements within short period on the throne of his forefathers in their meetings.

Mr Ariyo noted that the group was formed in 2014 with the objective of creating a common front for developmental projects in Ijebu-Jesa for all citizens of Egboro living outside the shores of Nigeria. He stressed the fact that the group has been working in unity to achieve all they have been able to do so far. He appreciated members who he said always donate voluntarily whenever called upon. He also used the avenue to mention some of the projects executed by the group and those in the pipeline.

In his response, Oba Agunsoye thanked the group for the honours done him and his adorable Olori. He poured encomiums on the leadership of the team for the wisdom to bring people together to contribute to fathers land. He then encouraged them to let love lead and work in unison to achieve their goals.

Speaking further, the Elegboro told the group about his visions to transform Ijebu-Jesa economically, socially and in every ramifications. He mentioned that his recent elevation as the President of Ijesa North Traditional Council has brought Ijebu-Jesa to limelight with lots of expectations from others. He noted that the renovation of the palace to a befitting status is paramount in his mind and the 2019 Egboro Day will focus on raising funds for that purpose. He then call on the people to brace up for the fund raising.

The reception has in attendance the Akinla of Erin Ijesa, Oba Adeyeba Ayeni and his Olori, Bishop Dr. Simeon Agbolabori,NPastor & Mrs Odeyomi and family, Mr Kayode Komolafe, Mrs Comfort Oni, Mrs Oladehinde, Mr Oladipo Odina, Chief Olusola Alabi (Oluomo of Egboro land), Apostle Keshinro who represented the Egbe Omo Obokun Ijesaland among others.
