Eld-El-Kabir: Trace Pledges Safe, Responsible Driving On Ogun 12 Major Traffic Corridors

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, has pledge to ensure safe and responsible driving, through effective traffic management and prompt rescue service throughout the 12 Ogun major traffic corridors, including the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagry Expressway, Interchange-Sagamu-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway, President Mohammed Buhari Expressway (Formerly Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun-Interchange Expressway), Lafenwa/Rounder-Olorunda-Aiyetoro-Imeko-Ilara Border amongst others for constant motorised patrol, 24hrs on daily basis, before, during and after the Eid-El-Kabir Celebrations.

According to a release from the office of the TRACE Commander/CEO, Cdr. Abdul-Fatai Olaseni Ogunyemi, the operation which commenced on Monday, 4th July, 2022, through Monday 18th July, 2022, will involve monitoring all Eid Praying Grounds in the State to prevent indiscriminate parking, motorists and other road users, including high and low capacity vehicles for safety of lives and property to be guaranteed on Ogun 12 major traffic corridors, especially at diversion and rerouting points, where road reconstruction are on going, in addition to timely clearance of obstructions, prompt rescue/emergency service and collaboration with other safety and security agencies.

Besides, the exercise would also involve all users of the road through the TRACE Traffic Whistle Blower Initiative, TRACE Emergency Traffic Service and TRACE Community Based Traffic Management Scheme, in view of the attendant traffic build-up anticipated, as a result of increased human and vehicular movement, more so that safety on our roads is a collective responsibility.

The release also charged TRACE operatives to be civil, humane, fair and firm, where the need arises and exhibit a high level of professionalism.

While felicitating the Muslim Ummah, Cdr Ogunyemi, admonish them to avoid night travels, reflect on the reason for the season and be safety conscious, and also ensure strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations, as any vehicle contravened for any traffic infraction(s) during the celebration will not be released until Monday,18th July, 2022, when TRACE would have ended her Special Eid-El-Kabir Operation Order.
