Ekiti Students Caught on Video Flogging Colleague, Authorities Condemn Act

Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State – A disturbing video has surfaced online showing students of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, physically assaulting a fellow student. The video, which has gone viral, shows a group of students flogging their colleague with belts and sticks, while others watched and cheered.

The incident, which occurred on school premises, has sparked outrage and condemnation from authorities and parents. The Ekiti State Government has described the act as “unacceptable and barbaric”, promising to investigate and take appropriate action against those involved.

The school authorities have also issued a statement, expressing regret over the incident and promising to take disciplinary action against the students involved. The statement reads, “We condemn this act of violence and assure parents and guardians that we are taking necessary steps to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.”

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is reportedly receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the assault.

This incident has raised concerns about bullying and violence in schools, highlighting the need for greater emphasis on discipline, empathy, and conflict resolution in our educational institutions.

Investigation is ongoing, and further actions will be taken to address this issue and ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
