Ekiti State Government Announces Commencement of Eight New Road Projects

In a bid to enhance the state’s infrastructure and improve the lives of its residents, the Ekiti State Government has announced the commencement of eight new road projects across the state.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Adesola Adebayo, made this known on the “Ekiti Loni/Ekiti Today” radio programme, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to the well-being and prosperity of Ekiti State residents.

The road projects, which are part of the government’s broader vision to create a more connected and accessible Ekiti State, include:

– Rehabilitation of Oke Ayedun – Ipao – Oke Ako – Irele Road in Ikole Local Government
– Reconstruction of Awo – Ara – Ijero Road
– Reconstruction of Ijan – Ise Road
– Reconstruction of Ikogosi Township Road
– Reconstruction of Itawure – Okemesi – Ijero Road
– Dualisation of Petim Road
– Construction of Ajila Jakande Crescent Roads 10 & 13 in GRA 3rd Extension
– Rehabilitation of De-Head – Basiri Road in Ado-Ekiti

These projects aim to improve connectivity, stimulate local economies, reduce travel time, and enhance living conditions across the state.

The state government has also commenced work on its proposed 1,000 kilometre rural road project across the state and approved the construction of the Ekiti Ring Road Phase.

The Commissioner called for the complete reconstruction of federal roads in the state, citing their deplorable condition. He assured the public of his office’s continued collaboration with FERMA to address the poor road conditions across the state.

Other ongoing road projects in the state include Atlas- Ajebandele- Deeper Life- Alasia- Omisanjana Road and Ado- Iworoko- Ifaki Road, designed to boost the economy, improve security, and ease transportation for commuters.
