The Egba Youth Indigene Initiative has commended the efforts of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun over steps and measures taken by the state government to curb the spread of covid-19 in the state.
The Egba Youths Indigene Initiative also expresses her gratitude on the running efforts in the state in terms of medical facilities as the state capital welcomed a 65 bed treatment and an isolation center having the accumulation of 300 bed pace capacity for the curb of the virus with the distribution of palliatives to the poor and vulnerable during the first weeks of the lockdown in the state.
There is need to acknowledge the efforts of individuals and corporations that have exercise their good patriotism in the state with donations for the fight against covid-19.
We also commend the efforts of the citizens in the state by abiding with the laid down rules and regulations as stated by the federal government, NCDC, ministry of health and the state governments in maintaining social distance, using of facial masks and avoiding social or public gathering without the exemption of religious activities.
We would like to appeal to the Governor in providing palliative measures for the Egba Youths and other youths in the state as no measures has been in place since the inception of the lockdown, where as the Ijebu Youths have been the one enjoying the palliative measures. We believe our Governor is not serving only the Ijebu’s but Ogun as a whole. We believe if this measures are duly observed as stated by the government, there should be a reduction in the number of positive cases and deaths in the state as people won’t be wandering around the streets with a means for survival thereby spreading the virus. We hereby appeal to the Governor to take a look into that aspect.
The association will continue to support the state government and also represent the Youths indigene of Egba and Ogun at large in fighting against the spread of Covid -19.
