The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed operatives to all local government areas in Edo State to address voters’ inducement ahead of the governorship elections scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024.

EFCC Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede emphasized the Commission’s commitment to promoting electoral integrity nationwide, stating that efforts are being made to protect voters from financial inducement while exercising their rights.

“Our operatives have been deployed to monitor the conduct of the elections. We are dedicated to ensuring that voters cast their votes freely and fairly, without any financial influence. Vote buying is a financial crime, and the EFCC will not tolerate it in any form,” he remarked.

The EFCC has a long-standing role in monitoring electoral processes throughout the country, in line with its mission to combat various economic and financial crimes.
