Edo Police Command Raid Coastal Communities, Recover Arms, Ammunition

The Edo state police command have raided the coastal community of Okumu in Ovia west local government area of the state, resulting to the discovery of various arms which include 2 AK 49 and 1 AK 47 rifle’s, 5 locally made single and double barrel guns, 128 cartridges as well as other items which were abandoned when police operatives stormed the community where a Suspected gang leader Lawrence Lambo and his gang were arrested during the week.

Deputy police public relations officer Jennifer Iwegbu who made this known in a statement, said the commands intelligence team led the operation under the directive of the state police commissioner Abutu Yaro.

Meanwhile, the house to house search by the tactical team of the command also resulted in the discovery of military uniforms, 2 high pressured gas cylinder’s as well as a bag of charms.

The Edo Police Commissioner also commended the officers who partook in the operation for their professionalism.
