Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki announced that the new 6,000-capacity sports and events venue, formerly known as the Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road, will be named “Rema’s Dome” in honour of the Afrobeats star Rema.

The announcement was made during the groundbreaking ceremony, which Rema attended and participated in by laying the first block.

Governor Obaseki highlighted that the arena, designed to host a variety of events including concerts, national conferences, and symposiums, aims to boost tourism and create job opportunities for the youth in Edo State.

He emphasized the significance of the arena in showcasing the state’s cultural heritage and attracting visitors.
