DS Adegbenro Scandal: SU President orders assault of journalists, as rector denies interview

The Student Union President of the DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Gabriel Francis allegedly ordered the beating of two reporters on the trail of the scandal against the school.

Two reporters of Medalinks News Agency, who visited the school situated at Itori area of Abeokuta, Ogun state, on Tuesday were beaten to pulp while their vehicle was also damaged.

The reporters, who were on an investigative mission, met dead end as the rector, Kehinde Job Olatunji, did not grant interview. The rector said until the commissioner for education,  Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, sends his approvals, this makes necessary an interview with affected publics and union bodies in the school.

According to findings, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria polytechnic (SSANIP) Chairman, Muritala Azeez with his brother, who is also Students Affairs Officer, Melojuekun Adesola, instigated the students body againt the journalists dealt with.

The student union president, Francis, popularly known as Solution, in company of his executives, confronted the journalists, rebuking them that the reporters have gone beyond their boundaries.

An account reported that Solution, who threatened to kill the reporters,  hired thugs to beat them, while also warning them to never come back to the school premises.

The reporters scampered and ran for their lives.
