The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has enjoined interested progressive politicians who had jumped ship to other parties to return to the All Progressives Congress through what he called “the front door”.

He declared that no person would be allowed to come into the APC through the back door.

He noted that the only way into the party is through the front door, while formal welcoming back and presenting party flags to former D5eputy governor of the state, Alhaja Salmat Badru and the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the last general election, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka at the Ake Palace Ground, Ake, Abeokuta.

Governor Abiodun said that the new members are now part of a big family, noting that he does not want the new members to be discriminated against in party activities. They are now bona fide members of the party.

“I need to clarify that it is important that we appreciate each other. This is politics. We all have our strengths; we all have a role to play. If anybody intend to join us, we know what to do. Nobody can come through the back door. Anyone that wants to join us must come through the front door”, he said.

“We have accepted them all. They are now part of us. I don’t want discrimination that one just came, while others have been here before them. No new member again. We are now one. We are joining hands to build the future of our state together,” he said.

The governor also assured that the process of appointing political office holders in the state is a continuous one.

He added that he would ensure every member of the party has a sense of belonging.

“I want to assure you that we have not finished with our appointments. We know you are coming. Be rest assured, we still have so many political appointments to do. We will ensure everyone has a sense of belonging and participation. So please, do not worry. We are now one and in the same family,” he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress, Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi said that it was a thing of joy to have the former governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka and former deputy governor in the state, Alhaja Salimot Badru and other big wigs into the ruling party in the state.

He noted that the event is another milestone in the history of politics of the state.

He noted that the door of the inclusive agenda of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government is still open to others willing to join the train destined to take the state to the next level.
