The Delta State Police Command has successfully rescued two kidnapped victims in Orogun, a community in Delta State, following a tip-off.
According to a statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Sunday, the police acted on intelligence to rescue the victims on April 26, 2024.
During the rescue operation, one of the suspected kidnappers sustained injuries during a gun duel and later died. Additionally, the police arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a Berretta pistol.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda, has assured Deltans that they will be able to sleep peacefully during his tenure, as the police are committed to ensuring their safety and security.
“The Delta State Police Command on 26th April 2024, successfully rescued two kidnapped victims in Orogun, one of the suspected kidnappers died due to injuries sustained during the gun duel. Eagle Net, Owvian Aladja division also arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered one English-made Berretta pistol” – SP Bright Edafe, said.
