Defence Minister Badaru Mourns Victims of Tragic Jigawa Fuel Tanker Explosion

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has extended his condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State following the devastating fuel tanker explosion in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area.

The explosion, which occurred on Tuesday night, resulted in the tragic loss of at least 90 lives, with around 50 others sustaining injuries.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday by the Minister’s personal assistant on media and publicity, Mati Ali, Mr. Badaru expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic fuel tanker explosion that claimed precious lives and left many injured,” the Defence Minister stated.

“My heart goes out to the people of Jigawa during this difficult time. I pray that the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may Almighty God grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

The Minister also wished the injured a swift and full recovery, adding, “May the injured recover quickly and fully.”
