CULTISTS KILL FINAL YEAR STUDENT OF UNIBEN

A final year student of the University of Benin affiliated to Federal College of Education Technical Akoka, Lagos was brutally killed on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim identified as Samuel Oladele Ajayi, an undergraduate business education student of the university of Benin affiliated to Federal college of education Technical Akoka. 

Tropic Reporters gathered that Samuel was said to have been shot in the neck by the cultists around 5pm Wednesday on the college Aluta market and he was confirmed dead immediately after he was shot.

A source in the college told our correspondent that gunshot had earlier been fired by unknown men in the college premises on Tuesday during the NCE students signing out activities before the tragic incident happened on Wednesday.

The source further observed that the gunmen shot Samuel in the neck and fled before the arrival of security operatives.

She said, “We heard a gunshot sound from our hostel and we discovered that a student was shot in the neck on the college campus (Aluta market). Such a thing has not happened in this college since I was a student. The student had just finished sitting an exam few minutes after he was accosted by the gunmen.

A student of the institution, who did not want his name in print, said there has been tension on the campus since the incident happened.

He added that Samuel who was brutally killed by suspected cultist is the only son of his parent.

Samuel’s lifeless body was later taken away by the policemen who came after the incident.

Another student who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned confirmed the incident, adding that investigation had begun.

 “Yes, I can confirm it. The incident happened few minutes ago while I wasn’t on campus and investigation has since been launched to ascertain why it happened to the final-year student because such has never happened since I was a student in this campus,” He said.
