The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his wife have tested negative while 10 persons said to be associated with the Lagos State House have tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor and wife was said to had been tested three times, with the results returning negative each.
This was revealed on Thursday by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi via his official Twitter handle.
He wrote; “I am glad to announce that #COVID19 Incident Commander, Governor of Lagos State @jidesanwoolu, and the First Lady of Lagos @jokesanwoolu, have consistently tested negative for #COVID19 following three consecutive tests conducted on them recently.
“However, 10 persons associated with the Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive for #COVID19,”
The commissioner stated that the state had recorded a total of 82 new coronavirus cases, with 2 deaths and 37 persons were discharged after tested positive of the virus.
Abayomi urged the state residents to observe all precautionary measures and use their masks at all times to protect themselves and others.
