The Ogun State Government has said that it is putting in place adequate measures to protect the lives of its people from the dreaded Coronavirus.

The State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this when he received a Toyota ambulance from the leadership of Winners Chapel, Faith Tabernacle, Ota, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, noted that the various steps so far taken were to minimise the spread of the virus, while urging the people to cooperate by obeying the stay-at-home directive and social distance advisory of the government to avoid contracting the disease.

While appreciating the Church for the donation, the Governor said, “we are glad that a socially responsible organisation like yours has responded to the call for assistance and has come to support us.

“These consumables, you cannot get them for love of money anywhere at this stage, and you have procured such a large quantity and put it at our disposal. It is something that is highly welcome.”

Governor Abiodun again appealed to well-meaning individuals, organisations and corporate bodies to join in the fight against the Coronavirus, while urging the people to be vigilant and report anybody with symptoms of the disease at the nearest goverment health facility for appropriate response.

Speaking earlier, Pastor David Oyedepo Junior, who represented Bishop David Oyedepo, said the mission remains committed to partnering the State Government in the fight against the pandemic, which was becoming a threat to humanity.

Other items donated include: 10 cartons of latex hand gloves, five cartons of disposable face masks, 20 units of infrared thermometers, 250 personal protective equipment (PPE), 10 units of blood pressure monitors, two units of multi-parametres, monitors, and 850 pieces of hand sanitizers.
