The Management of Ogun State Parking Management Scheme (OGSPMS) has donated another set of foodstuff to its staff barely one week after it distributed relief packages and Personal Protective Equipment to its operatives.
The Chief Operating Officer of the scheme, Engr. Wale Yusuf while distributing the relief materials to over 60 operatives of the scheme said the exercise was to further cushion the effects of the sit-at-home order by the federal government.
Engr. Yusuf explained that, the operatives are low income earners, hence, the need to consistently take care of their welfare became necessary.
He maintained that, the management would continually provide for the need of the operatives throughout the lockdown period.
The distributed food items are rice, garri, beans, noodles, and stock fish.
“We have taken it upon ourselves as our responsibility at the management level to ensure that, our staff don’t lack anything during this lockdown period.
“The fact that, they have been paid their salaries is even more reason why we have to take care of their welfare during this period. Because majority of them would have exhausted their salaries on foodstuff or other commodities.
“And rather than, starving them because they can’t go to work again where they will at least get gift or something from their numerous customers before the month end, we decided to use this open day, I mean the free period in the lockdown to reach out to them.”
Our correspondent observed that, the staff were enthusiastic and full of appreciation to the Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Yusuf for the initiative.
