Covid-19: ACOMORAN Begins Physical Testing Of Members In Ogun

The Ogun State Chapter of Amalgamated Commercial of Motorcycles, Riders, Repairs Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) has began physical testing of its members across the state.

The Chairman of the association in the state, Mr. Kayode Amos Showunmi while carrying out the test on commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada riders in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Monday said the association has acquired over 100 infrared thermometers to be distributed among members of the association across the three senatorial districts.

It was observed that, the team went to Panseke, Sapon, Kuto, Ita-Oshin, Lafenwa, Adatan, Sabo and Ibara junctions to test the thermometer on Okada riders.

Showunmi said, all branch chairmen have been tasked to always check the temperature of their members with the infrared thermometer daily before issuing out tickets to them.

He maintained that, the riders have been instructed to adhere with the state government directives of not carrying more than one passenger with nose mask.

The ACOMORAN Chairman also added that, the association has embarked on massive production of branded face mask which was distributed to Okada riders and their passengers in the state.

He however, commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the donation of Personal Preventive Equipment (PPEs) to the association through the State Ministry of Health.

“On behalf of our association, we want to thank the state government especially the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the donation of Personal Preventive Equipment such as Nose mask, hand sanitizers and hand gloves.

“As an association, in our social responsibility, we have also embarked on massive production of our branded nose mask for our members and their passengers.

“Not only that, in line with the NCDC recommendation we have began physical testing of our members through the infrared thermometer by taking their temperature everyday before we issue them daily tickets.

“We have also instructed them to follow the state government social distance directives of not carrying more than one passenger at once and we are monitoring that strictly.”
