Court Remands Okorocha in EFCC Custody, Former Governor pleads not guilty to Money Laundering Charge

Former Governor of Imo state Senator Rochas Okoracha and 6 others pleads not guilty to 17 count charge of money laundering and diversion of public funds belonging to Imo State.

Counsel to the EFCC ask the court for a trial date as they have about 13-15 witnesses to call

Justice Inyang Ekwo gives EFCC 5days for trial which will be day to day from 7 to 11th November 2022.
Counsel to the Senator Okoracha moved an application for his bail , which the prosecution opposed

Court adjourned to 31th May for hearing on the bail application.

Counsel to Senator Okoracha draw the attention of the court to the invasion of his clients residence by the EFCC without a warrant of arrest.

The action by the EFCC he said would have caused his client his presidential ambition if the party had not postponed the presidential primaries.

Justice Ekwo noted that the bail application will be taken tomorrow
