Buhari made this known against the backdrop of ongoing investigation into some government agencies including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Speaking after observing private Eid prayers with his family on Friday, July 31, in Abuja, President Buhari lamented how public positions have been grossly abused by people in the positions of trust.
Buhari, however, said a lot of funds looted by the past administrations have been recovered while the government also introduced the single treasury account to curb mismanagement of public funds.
He noted that compared to what he inherited in 2015, his government has been exercising strategies that proved successful in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents and bandits.
Meanwhile, it was reported that President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigerians know that his administration has done its best to improve the security situation in the country when considering what he took on when he came into office.
The president, in a message to Nigerians shortly after performing the Eid prayers with his family on Friday, July 31, pointed out that much had been achieved security-wise from the situation he inherited in 2015.
According to a statement through his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed concerns over the security disturbances in parts of the country, particularly in the northwest and north-central parts of the country.
