Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the federal lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has tragically passed away at the age of 52.
He died on Saturday morning at a London hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for a serious illness.
Ubah’s health had taken a critical turn in the past 48 hours, and despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his condition. The cause of his death is yet to be disclosed.
A prominent politician, Ubah was first elected as a Senator in 2019 under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and reelected in 2023.
He later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and had expressed interest in contesting the Anambra State governorship election in 2025.
Ubah had previously contested the governorship seat in 2021, finishing fourth in the election won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
His passing has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, and he will be deeply missed by his constituents and colleagues.
