– The call was made by the United Kingdom chapter of the Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group (NDMG)

– According to NDMG, international bodies should take urgent note of the incursion of ISIS into the sub-region

The Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group (NDMG) United Kingdom Chapter says Nigeria needs the support of the world to overcome a new wave of terrorism in the country.

According to the group, Nigeria is faced with another dimension of terrorist activities in the Islamic State (ISIS) after flushing out remnants of Boko Haram/ISWAP.

The director of publicity for the group, Prince Oni, in a statement called on global attention to prevent ISIS or any other terror group from establishing itself as a replacement for Boko Haram.

Mr Oni said should this happen, the world will be confronted with another refugee crisis like the one in Europe at the moment.

The group also called for all hands to be on deck to chase away the ISIS out of the region before they gain ground and repeat the kind of carnage brought upon the Syrian-Iraqi axis.

Oni advised the federal government and the Nigerian armed forces not to relent having silenced Boko Haram and instead tackle the new security challenge posed by ISIS.

He also called on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, and the African Union Commission and other supra-national bodies to take urgent note of the incursion of ISIS into the sub-region by ISIS fighters.

“Abandoning Nigeria to deal with the ISIS problem on its own will backfire on the entire human race in a way that would be regretted by all those that failed to act now that it is crucial to do so,” Oni said.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the United States of America chapter of the NDMG had passed a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari and his service chiefs for effectively handling of the insecurity situation in Nigeria.

According to the NDMG in the US, the Nigerian military has successfully managed the security breaches confronting the nation and thwarting the intent of detractors within the country.

The NDMG said its conclusion followed an extensive review of all the prevailing security situation within Nigerian states.
