Boiling Point Arena, a popular monthly interview discourse, will host Oba Afolabi Odidiomo and Ambassador Yemi Farounbi on Sunday, June 9, 2024, to discuss the diminishing influence of traditional rulers in Nigeria.
The online discourse will be broadcast live on Sweet 107.1FM from 8pm to 10pm, focusing on the topic “Erosion of Traditional Dignity: How Nigeria’s Flawed Political and Judicial Systems Undermine Status of Traditional Rulers.”
The discussion will center around the issues plaguing the traditional institution, including the erosion of dignity and esteem accorded to royal fathers, the game of thrones in the Kano Emirate, and the subjection of judicial processes to political manipulation.
The guests will also discuss whether traditional rulers should have constitutional roles in governance and address issues of decorum among monarchs.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom and Chairman, Boiling Point Council of Royals and Elders.
The program aims to provide a solution to the decadence and restore the dignity of traditional rulers in Nigeria.
