The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State command is set to hold a 2 – day leadership training for its members to ensure effective and better performance.
According to a press release signed by its Public Relation Officer, Chief Babatunde Odeyemi and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday, revealed that the training would further equip its members for better and up to date performance of their roles.
Speaking further, Odeyemi said, the training would hold at the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Main Auditorium on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th April, 2023 with the theme: “Role of PCRC leadership in curbing emerging crimes and Criminalities in our society”.
He added that the training is expected to have the Ogun State Police Commissioner of Police, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, HRM Oba Kehinde Olugbenle and other eminent personalities in attendance.
He said, “in order to equip its members for better and up to date performance of their roles, the Ogun State PCRC is holding a 2 – day leadership training for its members”.
“Titled, “Role of PCRC leadership in curbing emerging crimes and Criminalities in our society”, the training is holding at the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Main Auditorium on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th April, 2023″.
“The state police commissioner, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle are among the eminent personalities to declare the training open”.
“Among the titles of papers to be delivered by erudite scholars are: Information and Intelligence gathering and Transformation, Mobilizing the community for effective global participation and Using sports to curb growing crime among Nigerian youths”.
“The training is expected to equip PCRC members on how to provide the needed support for the Police, in an attempt to reduce crime in our society “. he added.
Meanwhile, the state PCRC Chairman, Ven. (Dr) Kunle Popoola explained that it’s a payback time, hence, PCRC is determined to assist the Police via intelligence gathering.
Similarly, other activities expected during the training are football match and visits to some industries within the locality.
