The Ogun State Director, National Orientation Agency, Mr. Kolawole Obadina has called on Nigerians to be patriotic and promote peaceful coexistence among all tribes.
Obadina made this known in a statement signed by the agency’s Public Relation Officer, Titilayo Ogunjemilua, calling on all aggrieved political parties and candidates to approach the court for necessary redress rather than taking laws into their hands.
He however called on Nigerians, especially the good people of Ogun State to support the newly elected candidates across the country in the just concluded 2023 general elections.
He said, “the 2023 general elections in the country was free, fair, transparent and credible with Ogun State as a reference and as observed by his office, management and Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers (COMOs) in all the 20 LGAs of the State”.
“Though, there were elections disruptions occasioned by some incidences of violence and other challenges in some polling units, but that was not enough to invalidate the process as combined efforts of security agencies led by the Nigeria Police were readily on hand to restore normalcy in the affected areas”.
Obadina however congratulated and commended the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC Mr. Niyi Ijalaye and his staff for a job well done before, during and after the elections.
In the same vein, he commended the security agencies for maintaining peace, law and order before, during and after the elections in the State.
He also applauded the media, print and broadcast, for its unprecedented coverage and for giving a fair view reportage of the general elections.
The State Director however congratulated all Nigerians, most especially, the electorates for believing in the electoral process by voting candidates of their choices, and for their peaceful demonstration after the declaration of elections results.
