The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the driver of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) where the 22-year-old, Bamise Ayanwole, went missing.

This was contained in a statement by the state police spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu.

The driver of the BRT, identified as Nice Andrew Omininikoron, earlier said by the police to be on the run, has now been apprehended, alongside two other suspects.

Bamise got missing while returning to Ota from Ajah on Saturday, February 26 when she boarded a BRT with number 240257 going to Oshodi about 7:00 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop.

Suspicious of the driver’s behaviour, she was said to have sent messages to her friend with details of the bus. The friend then told her to alight at Oworonsoki bus stop, but that was the last everyone heard of her.

Her body was later found dumped by the roadside at Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island, with some parts of her body missing.

The corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.
