The Chairman of Ifedara Opeji Area CDC in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab has called on people and residents of Irenitemi Community to embrace peace in order to achieve the needed development in the region.
The call was made on Sunday during a peace meeting with aggrieved members of the community and the commissioning of “security sign post” erected at the entrance of the community as well as other directional sign posts strategically located in the heart of the community.
While commissioning the project, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab commended the initiative of the executive for the laudable project adding that the development of the community is a joint effort which should be achieved through communal efforts and dedications.
He equally tasked people and residents of the community to coexist peacefully with one another irrespective of personal differences and interests.
He charged all aggrieved parties of the need to embrace peace to aid robust tides between all parties in the region for an outstanding development and progress as in unison lies strength.
According to him, peace is the panacea for any meaningful development, hence the need to balance it to achieve meaningful development is apt and key.
On his part, the Chairman of Irenitemi Community, Deacon Durowoju Adeolu Matthew commended the residents for attending the peace meeting despite the short notice.
Deacon Durowoju equally appreciated the leadership of the indefatigable Area CDC Chairman, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab on ways he has been using to resolve issues and differences threatening the progress and development of the Community.
He further noted that the new commissioned project was one of other projects that has been completed and currently in use by residents as many are still ongoing such as the community borehole drilling, construction of community town hall and many others.
He called on residents to wake up to their responsibilities by helping them actualize the projects for the benefit of all and sundry as their selfless contributions and donations would go a long way in actualizing the set projects.
He thereafter used the opportunity to call on the state government under the able leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State of the need to reconstruct and rehabilitate the community roads as well as the provision of pipe born water and modern community health facility to ease the stress encountered by residents.
In conclusion he appreciated the security agency for the support received despite the fact that the country is currently battling with increasing cases of kidnapping, robbery and all sorts of criminality.
He admonished youths of the need to shun social vices capable of threatening their future and the communal peace of community residents.
