The entire Muslim community in Egbaland, Ogun State was thrown into mourning yesterday when the death of Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu, the Chief Imam of Egbaland was announced.
The Asiwaju Adeen of Bode- Olude in Abeokuta the Ogun State Capital, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to commiserate with Egba Muslim community to mourn the passage of its Chief Imam to the great beyond.
This was contained in a release issued by his Director of Information and Publicity, Adejola Adeyemi Crown in the early hours of today and obtained by Tropic Reporters Correspondent.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab described Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu as an Islamic icon who upheld the pillar of Islam within and outside Ogun State.
The late Chief Imam passed away in his home in Abeokuta after a brief illness at age 99.
Asiwaju Wahab added that he would be sorely missed as he always put his deep knowledge and understanding of Islam at the disposal of many.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab said: “I am deeply saddened by his death, but as Muslims, we must take every occurrence as the will of Allah.
“Alhaji Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu is an outstanding Islamic Icon who upheld the values of Islam until his death.”
