Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation Partners Agric Capital To Empower Youths on Mechanized Farming

As part of efforts to ensure food security and reduce the rate of unemployment among the youths, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, a non-profit making organization has partnered with Agric Capital in conjunction with other strategic partners’ like Agropark, seedzone, Orgnat, Dani Foods Limited and Industrial Park to empower about 20, 000 youths across the 36 states in Nigeria with mechanized farming.

The event which was held on Tuesday at Health Center premises, Albarika Area, Balesi via Bode Olude, Abeokuta, Ogun State was well attended by farmers, youths, entrepreneurs in the agriculture value chain and agri-business.

While speaking at the event, the Founder of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, JP noted that the event was organized to alleviate unemployment among the youth, make farming more attractive and lucrative, ensure food security and to also provide the youth in farming a suitable environment to operate.

Asiwaju Ddapo Wahab further stressed that land for agricultural purposes would be provided to the beneficiaries, ploughed for free, while planting of selected crops such as tyme, maize, potatoes etc would be provided to the participants at no cost.

He restated that the initiative would also make provision of labour for the farmers for a hitch – free planting experience as well as access to 100, 000 naira in the first three months for the management of acre of allotted land at Alamala to each beneficiary, while another payment would be made after harvest has been done, free accommodation, free two meals per day. guaranteed security, etc among other facilities.

He however encouraged youths and farmers for their interest in adding values to the nation’s economy and ensuring food security across Nigeria.

Asiwaju Dapo Wahab however thanked Agric Capital members of staff which includes; Mrs Falore Busola (Branch Manager), Mr Olayode Boluwatife (Agric Extension officer) Mr Tunmise (Media personnel), Ifedara-Opeji Area CDC farmers group among the beneficiaries, Stakeholders as well as all other developmental partners involved in the empowerment programme, members of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation and the participants.
