The Women’s Wing of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, a Non-governmental Organization, has donated food items, toiletries, others to children at the Stella Obasanjo orphanage home and Gideon Orphanage/ Home for the aged in Abeokuta area of Ogun state.
The foundation which was led by the President of the Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab, stormed the orphanage home to interact, engage and to dole out items to the children at the Homes.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab in his speech stated that the reason for the visits was to give hope, joy and also to celebrate the yuletide with the children and to allow them know their importance in the society.
He advised wealthy Nigerians to pay attention to the less privileged Nigerians and also support the grass roots.
In her remarks, the Coordinator of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation (Women’s Wing), Mrs. Elizabeth Eweje said the visit to the home was to familiarize with the children and also give them a sense of belonging.
She said less privileged people in the society needed support from philanthropists and corporate organization, adding that the foundation would not relent in its responsibility to give back to the society.
She added that the gesture was aimed at helping the needy, parentless, and underprivileged children in the society to make them feel loved and a part of the society.
She said, “we’ve come here to show the children love and sense of belongings that they are relevant in the society because our vision is never to leave any child behind and believe our visits will have impacts on the children”, she stated.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation also engaged the children in prayers, while the Facilitator of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation Women’s Wing, Mrs. Bamidele Onokpe urged that more hands of fellowship needs to be stretched to orphanages and encouraged well-meaning Nigerians to be visiting the orphanage homes frequently for meaningful impacts.
Meanwhile, the management of the homes appreciated the foundation for the kind gesture and also urged Nigerians to support the children at orphanage homes.
