The President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab on Wednesday received the Pride of Ogun State 2021 Award of Excellence of service to Humanity from YAATOP Cultural Carnival Institute, a non-religious but moral and cultural oriented organization as part of activities to commemorate its 2021 Children Fiesta at YAATOP Vocational Training School.
The event tagged, “The Pride of Ogun State” was held at the June 12 Cultural Center, Abeokuta and was graced by dignitaries such as Ogun State Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe, Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Chairman of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools ( NAPPS), Ogun State Chapter, Mr Olumide Lawrence, Proprietors & Proprietress of Private Schools, among others.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab (JP) who was the Chairman at the occasion and also an awardee thanked and charged both the government and ministries especially Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its counterpart, Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment to support organization promoting our culture especially among Children.
He added that lack of cultural promotion especially among Children and youths has caused a lot of moral decadence such as cultism, hooliganism, internet fraud and so on, which our culture preaches against.
He said by promoting our culture and traditions this will drastically reduce or eradicate moral decadence in the Society.
