The President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab has been inducted as Fellow of the Institute of Supervision and Leadership.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab was inducted alongside twenty-three other as Fellow, Associate, Member and graduate member of the Institute in an induction and inauguration ceremony held on Saturday at Conference Center, University of Lagos.
In his opening speech, the Acting – Interim President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Kayode Bowale stated that the Institute has been marching forward on the issues of leadership, both in training and research.
He added that Leadership issues in the country cannot be adequately addressed without the involvement of the Institute of Supervision and Leadership, adding that the Institute was majorly established to propagate the tents, principles and practice of leadership.
He congratulated the inductees and implored them to take membership seriously as personal development is the panacrea for effective leadership practice.
He said, “effective practice of leadership requires constant training and development of members, and that is why the Institute has develop your leadership potentials and improve your leadership skills”.
Delivering the induction lecture titled, “Inclusive Leadership and Sustainable Development: Aftermath of New Realities of Covid-19”, Barr Femi Mokikan pointed out that the issue of leadership is of paramount importance to the human race.
He stressed further that Covid-19 has drastically pushed companies and consumers to rapidly embrace and adopt new behaviors such as remote work and virtual meetings, the convergence of e-commerce/digital transaction.
He however encouraged company and policy makers to help facilitate workforce transitions as for the first time elevated the importance of the physical dimension of work arenas with the highest physical mobility.
In his remark, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab commended the leadership of the Institute in its quest to promote good leadership training and platform capable of building outstanding leaders with visions to act as catalyst of change towards rebuilding all aspects of human endeavors.
He concluded that himself alongside other inductees of the Institute will contribute thier quota towards expanding the growth and development of the Institute as the task of building a transforming Nigeria has more to do with leadership training.
