In commemoration of Army Day, soldiers from the 35 Artillery Brigade Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State, carried out a sanitation exercise at Lafenwa Market on Wednesday.

The troops, who arrived at the market at 7:30 a.m., swept and cleaned the market, its drainages, and surrounding areas.

According to the Brigade Commander, Gen Mohammed Aminu, represented by Col Legborsi Nule, the Garrison Commander, the gesture is a way for the military to support their host community and give back to society.

“As members of this community, we are committed to contributing to the growth and development of our nation,” he said.

The event is part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, a yearly event that takes place across the country.

The soldiers also visited Lafenwa school on Tuesday, donating books and spending time with the students.
