Armed Forces Ready to Defend Nigeria’s Democracy – CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to defending the country’s democracy.

He made this statement during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, to the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Gen. Musa expressed gratitude to the minister for supporting the armed forces in their constitutional duties.

He highlighted the military’s progress in combating terrorism, insurgency, and criminal activities, stating that they have significantly decimated these threats.

The CDS emphasized the collaborative efforts of the armed forces and other security agencies to ensure the safety of critical government assets and increase oil production, thereby boosting economic activities.

Minister Edun commended the military for their dedication to protecting democracy and keeping the country united. He acknowledged the military’s sacrifices and assured that their efforts would facilitate economic growth and business prosperity.

Edun also expressed optimism about the country’s economic performance, citing positive indicators that suggest the present administration is on the right track.
