Appeal Court Reaffirms Speaker Olumo’s Victory

The court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has re-affirmed the election victory of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo 1, State Constituency against his challenger in the last general election, Okikiola Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Appeal court equally awarded a N500,000 ( five hundred thousand naira) fine against the appellant.

Reacting to his victory, Speaker Oluomo stated that the judgement was a reaffirmation of his victory, which was consistently affirmed from the ballot box to the appellate court.

He expressed appreciation to his constituents for believing in his representation, while commending the judiciary for its consistency in the pursuit of justice for the promotion of democracy.

He added that the judgement would spur him to do more for his constituents and the State.
