The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has announced the party’s intention to replicate its successful electoral template from the Edo State governorship election in the forthcoming November 16 election in Ondo State.

Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, also expressed confidence that this strategy will help the APC capture Anambra State, currently under the control of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and expand the party’s influence in the South East.

Speaking during a gathering in Abuja to celebrate the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo with the Edo State election situation room, Ganduje emphasized the APC’s determination to cement its presence in the South East geopolitical zone.

“We have started working to develop strategies to win these states. Next year, Anambra state will follow,” Ganduje stated. He further noted the importance of the “political demarginalisation” of the South East, adding, “Let me remind you that we have a project… We already have two states in the South East, but that’s too small for a big party like ours.”

The APC Chairman urged leaders within the party to work diligently toward actualizing these objectives, signaling a clear intention to strengthen the party’s position in key battleground regions ahead of future elections.

North Central Elders Predict Easy Victory for APC in 2027 Elections

Meanwhile, a delegation of APC elders from the North Central region, led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute, expressed confidence in Ganduje’s leadership and the party’s prospects in the 2027 general election. During a visit to the APC national secretariat in Abuja, the group congratulated Ganduje on the party’s victory in Edo State and on his recent legal triumph, which solidified his position as National Chairman.

Ebute affirmed, “With these achievements, we believe 2027 will be a walkover for the APC.” The delegation, which included former presidential aspirant Cesnabmilhilo Oken’oval, praised Ganduje’s efforts in steering the party toward electoral success, declaring that the APC would deliver a resounding victory in future polls. “2027 election will be the greatest shock, we will carry it clear and clean,” Oken’oval stated confidently.

Ganduje’s Legal Victory Strengthens His Position as APC Chairman

Ganduje also addressed his recent legal victory at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The suit, filed by the North Central APC Forum, had sought to challenge Ganduje’s chairmanship on the grounds that it violated the party’s constitution, particularly Article 7(vii) and (ix). However, the court struck down the claim, ruling it as baseless.

“There is no doubt that the claim was baseless and was treated by the court as such. We don’t fear such baseless litigations,” Ganduje remarked confidently, reinforcing his commitment to leading the APC toward greater political heights.

He also reflected on the challenges faced during the Edo governorship race, particularly in competing against an incumbent government. “The election of Saturday is an indication that our efforts are yielding results. Fighting an incumbent government is not easy,” he noted.
