• Rally Behind Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata Amid Petition Controversy

Some concerned All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Kano’s 44 local government areas have condemned a recent petition against the nomination of Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata for a ministerial role.

The petition, allegedly signed by 50,000 APC members opposing Ata’s nomination, was dismissed by the group as a fabricated attempt to undermine Kano’s true APC leadership.

Hon. Ado Isyaku Daddauda, a former member of the Kano State House of Assembly and leader of the stakeholders, expressed the group’s discontent to newsmen in Kano.

“This so-called petition is a mere fabrication aimed at tarnishing the reputation of genuine APC stakeholders in Kano,” said Daddauda.

He added that these petitioners are “bad elements” and “enemies of Kano,” determined to discredit the state’s image and its people.

Daddauda further emphasized that Ata’s nomination by Tinubu was well-deserved, citing Ata’s extensive record as a grassroots politician, an eight-year adviser to the Kano State Governor, a three-term Assembly member, and Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly.

According to him, “The nomination of Yusuf Abdullahi Ata is not only timely but also a testament to his unwavering dedication to the people of Kano and his exemplary service to the state.”

He stated that the so-called APC “50,000 members” are threatened by Ata’s solid reputation and his track record of integrity and success in previous roles.

Furthermore, Daddauda argued that President Tinubu’s choice aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, as Ata brings valuable experience from his role as a Planning Officer with the Kano State Housing Corporation since 1994, making him well-suited to address housing deficits in Nigeria.

The stakeholders urged Kano residents and Nigerians to disregard the “baseless allegations” being circulated, calling for support for Ata as a competent and dedicated leader.
