The Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, on Sunday condoled with family members of the late Alaafin of Oyoland, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, and the entire people of Oyo over the death of the traditional ruler.
In a statement by the Owaloko issued by his media director, the monarch said the Alaafin’s death came at the time when his wealth of experience and wisdom of years were needed to be saddle for the good of Nigeria and Oyo State in general.
According to the statement: “On behalf of myself, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe Owaloko VI, Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, Chiefs, the princes, princesses and the good people of Iloko-Ijesa most heartily condole with the family of the late Alaafin of Oyo land, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, on the sudden departure of this amiable monarch as he joins his ancestors.
“I join all well meaning Nigerians, home and abroad, to pray that God will grant the entire family and the people of Oyo the fortitude to bear this irremediable loss at this propitious time when the wealth of his experience and wisdom of years can be saddle for the good of Nigeria and Oyo State in general.
