Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has described the death of the Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Ondo East Local Government Area, Hon. Frederick Olayinka Otemuyiwa, as a great loss to the party in the State.
The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, said the late APC Chieftain was a committed and dedicated party member.
The Statement reads:”The news of the death of the Chairman of our great party, the APC , in Ondo East, Hon. Frederick Olayinka Otemuyiwa came as a rude shock. He was one of the committed leaders of our party who has contributed immensely to the party’s progress and development.
“His sudden departure is painful. He was a core party man whose penchant for peace and unity was always very admirable. Undoubtedly, we have lost one of our great mobilisers. He will be sorely missed.
The Governor lamented that the APC Chieftain left at a time when his political acumen and experience are needed, particularly as the electioneering activities commence soon.
“I sympathise with the immediate family of the deceased. Only God can comfort them and give them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. Death is a respecter of nobody. The finality of death is a reality that is very hard to accept. We can only urge the family to take solace in the great work Otemuyiwa did while he was here with us.” The Governor added.
Governor Akeredolu, who extended condolences to the APC members, and the entire Ondo East Local Government Area, prayed God to grant the late Otemuyiwa eternal rest.
