Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, has been re-arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
The arrest, which occurred on Tuesday, is linked to the alleged disruption of the local government elections held on Saturday in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area.
This development follows Adebutu’s recent release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), where he was questioned over similar allegations of election-related misconduct.
Confirming the arrest, a senior police source revealed that Adebutu remains in custody as investigations continue into the incident.
The PDP chieftain is accused of orchestrating the disruption by recruiting approximately 40 unauthorized police officers from Lagos.
He is also alleged to have coordinated party thugs to interfere with the electoral process.
“Adebutu allegedly brought in dozens of unauthorized police officers and mobilized party loyalists to cause chaos during the election,” a police source disclosed.
