Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, paid a solidarity visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State at the Government House, Yola, while calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do the right thing by declaring the authentic winner of the governorship election in the State.

Makinde said the people of Adamawa have spoken and their decision would be respected by the concerned authorities.

He described the action of the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner as a “shame” and expressed optimism that the right thing will be done.

The Oyo Governor also urged the people of Adamawa state to remain calm and assured that the current situation will be resolved amicably.

Makinde is the first among the G-5 Governors or any member of the PDP Governors Forum to pay a solidarity visit to Gov. Fintiri since the controversial declaration of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Sen. Aishatu Binani, as Governor-elect.
