Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called on Nigerians to maintain hope for a better nation through collective prayers from both Christians and Muslims.
Highlighting the peaceful coexistence among religious communities in the state, Governor Abiodun praised the conducive atmosphere it has fostered for effective governance.
In a statement commemorating Eid-el-Fitri, Governor Abiodun reassured citizens that ongoing interventions by federal and state governments would alleviate current challenges.
He emphasized his administration’s efforts, including recent food palliative distributions and the Educash program, aimed at easing the burden on the populace.
Acknowledging the support of religious groups, the governor emphasized the importance of love, understanding, and unity for peaceful coexistence among citizens.
He urged Muslims to embody the lessons of Ramadan, emphasizing patience, self-discipline, and kindness in their daily lives.
He said: I extend my warmest congratulations to our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of the celebrations of Eid-el-Fitri. May this significant celebration of Ramadan’s end bring you and your families abundant blessings, love, peace, and unity.
“Let us take a moment to reflect on the lessons learned throughout the holy month of Ramadan and allow the spirit of Eid to guide our actions towards compassion, kindness, and understanding. Together, may we continue to build a thriving community where everyone feels valued and included.
“As we rejoice in the festivities, let us also remember to uphold the core values of humanity, respect, and harmonious co-existence that define our great state. By embracing these ideals, we can forge a better future for all.”
