Abiodun Pours Encomium On Durojaiye, Olurin As He Pays Condolence Visit To The Families

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the late Senator Biyi Durojaiye as a well-respected community leader, who cared for the well-being of his fellow human being.

This is just as the Governor described late Major General Adetunji Olurin (Rtd), another elder statesman in the State as a man of great impact who devoted the larger part of his life to the service of mankind through the Nigerian Army where he served with dignity and valour.

Governor Abiodun, represented by his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele bares his mind while speaking during condolence visits to the families of the two illustrious sons of the State who passed on to eternity recently, describing the duo  as worthy elder statemen and an astute supporters of his administration.

Speaking at the house of the deceased former Senator in Lagos, the State’s helmsman noted that he was a caring father and leader, who fought gallantly for the enthronement of democratic rule.

In the same vein, while speaking at the residence of the Olurins also in Lagos, Abiodun described the passage of General Olurin, a one-time Military Governor of Oyo State as a great loss to the State, the country and humanity in general.

Acknowledging the contribution of the war veteran to the restoration of peace to Liberia and the West African region, the Governor commended him for discharging his duties with his characteristic commitment and professionalism.

In their respective responses, the daughter of late Senator Durojaiye, Revd. Bukola Ogunkanmi and the widow of General Olurin, Mrs. Kehinde Olurin, thanked Governor Abiodun for sparing a thought for them during this trying times.
Revd. Ogunkanmi who described her father as a strong man whose death was shocking, added that the family would announce date for the funeral soon.

On her part, Mrs. Olurin  pointed out that her late husband was a distinguished son of the State who paid his dues for the country, noting that she was glad that her late husband lived a good life.
