Abia State Government has directed all local government chairmen in the State to ensure that all political billboards used during the last general elections are pulled down.

In a statement signed by Okey Kanu, the commissioner for information and culture, the government directed that all the 2023 election billboards be pulled down before Christmas.

The statement explained that the removal of the billboards should affect all political parties.

“This directive has become imperative as elections are long over and it is time for governance.

“It is important to note that this directive applies across the board to all the political parties in the State. The Mayors are to ensure strict compliance,” he said.
