The President of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA), Sir Jare Oyesola has advocated for strong partnership between French multinational corporations and Organized Private Sector (OPS) in Nigeria, especially in the areas of agriculture value chain development, green energy solutions, agro-industrial and small scale market development.
Sir Jare Oyesola made this known during a meeting at the sideline of the ongoing Sommet De L’Elevage (2021), the leading European trade show for livestock industry at Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Speaking further at the meeting which had in attendance the French Minister of Commerce and representatives of five different French companies, Sir Oyesola stated that the full involvement of the private sector, Cooperative movement and supply chain management are vital for economic development of any nation.
ABEOCCIMA President also urged the federal and state governments in Nigeria to always carry NACCIMA along as the voice of business in Nigeria when decisions are being made on government’s financial interventions in form of loans to business operators, as the private sector has obvious payback responsibility through taxes and rates.
At least five Nigerian governors, top government officials and key actors in the OPS including the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, Past NACCIMA National President, Iyalode Alaba Lawson and ABEOCCIMA Vice President, Mr. Ibrahim Bada among others were at the meeting.
