Police nab seven self-acclaimed ‘freedom fighters’, recover arms, ammunition in Delta community

The Delta State Police Command has arrested seven self-acclaimed freedom fighters in Uzere community in Isoko North Local Government Area.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, disclosed this in a telephone chat with DAILY POST in Warri.

CP Inuwa said the Police also recovered two arms, eight cutlasses and twenty rounds of ammunition.

While noting that the suspects have confessed to the crimes, CP Inuwa said, “They cannot deny it” stressing, “We will certainly charge them to Court at a later date.”

He said the seven arrested freedom fighters are using the palace of a self-acclaimed king within the community as their sanctuary.

“All we are after is peace in Uzere and we will not allow anybody to cause trouble in the community.”
